Radio Control Jet World Speed Record
A MQM-107 turbine powered sub scale drone was reportedly flown at about mach 1.2 recently in San Diego, however it is not totally R/C. Many R/C Jet enthusiasts have flown their rigs at the mid 300MPH range in many areas of the US, Canada, and Australia. One of the biggest challenges with model R/C jet racing is getting an accurate measurement of speed. New methods, other than line of sight, have been developed and will be discussed in upcoming post.
